Padre alumnus and right-handed pitcher Nick Garcia '17 has signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners. Garcia joins the Mariners organization after previously pitching within the Pirates and Giants systems.

A former standout, Garcia was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2020 MLB Draft out of Chapman University. During his professional career, he has showcased strong command, including a stellar 1.54 ERA in 26 games with the Double-A Richmond Flying Squirrels in 2024.
