The match Tuesday evening in South City was a step up in competition for Serra (2-0), which breezed to a season-opening 7-0 win over Mills last week. South City came into the rare meeting between the teams—they've met only twice since 2004, in 2015 and 2016—as the defending Peninsula Athletic League Ocean Division champions.
